If you want to do hypnosis yourself (don’t worry! It’s all safe), take a small object and tie it to a string to make something like a pendulum.
Now take it from above and swing it to the left and right. Please focus on the pendulum while it is turning left and right. Imagine the small object doing a circular swing instead of swinging left and right.
After a few moments, you will see that the object oscillated in a circle when you didn’t do it on purpose. What happened here is that you gave commands to your subconscious mind, causing your muscles to move without you knowing. And feel it move in a direction that creates a circular movement. Congratulations! You have done your first simple hypnosis experiment.
The process of self-hypnosis is similar to the experiment we did. The difference is that you will go into a deeper state of relaxation (a condition where your conscious mind will almost fall asleep and your subconscious will take over) while you are doing hypnosis.
Read on to learn the steps to perform an accurate and straightforward self-hypnosis process.
Stages of self-hypnosis using a pendulum
- Go to a place where you can be alone and nothing will disturb you.
- Lie on your back on a comfortable bed or sofa.
- Close your eyes and start breathing deeply. The deeper your breathing, the more successful you will be in self-hypnosis.
- Start focusing on each part of the body and imagine each part in a state of relaxation. You can imagine a blue light aura circulating in your body, and as it passes around your body parts, it relaxes them. For example, focus on your right hand and then relax its muscles, focus all your attention on the feeling of relaxation, and use it on yourself. In the same way, focus on other parts, relax your whole body, and finally imagine your entire body relaxed, while the water mass covers it all and you are feeling terrific.
- You can do this operation so much that you feel like falling asleep.
- Imagine that a helium balloon is tied to your right hand, and you want to pull it up. Imagine that this balloon is so giant that it can pull your right hand up.
- If you have concentrated correctly and used your imagination well with all the details, your right hand will rise little by little.
Self-hypnosis to change beliefs and make changes without using pendulum
Now you can hypnotize yourself so that you can slowly change your beliefs. For example, if you are stressed and worried about a presentation or a group speech, you can imagine yourself giving a speech while you are completely confident.
Imagining pictures is one of the most potent forms of indoctrination.. If you imagine yourself giving a speech several times with complete confidence, you can gradually do the same thing in real life and appear powerful in the desired speech.
Our other recommendation is to record your voice and then do the relaxation steps and insinuations with your voice. In this way, you can concentrate more while performing self-hypnosis.
Other uses of self-hypnosis
You can correct and abandon almost any undesirable behavior with self-hypnosis. It is enough to continuously teach your subconscious mind what the desired final image is like and imagine it. You can use self-hypnosis to increase the speed of learning. Increase the speed of treatment and recovery (for example, colds), compensate for the lack of sleep and gain vitality, increase your motivation to reach the goal, etc. For example, an athlete can increase the speed of progress by imagining that he is lifting heavier weights. In fact, by doing this, the unconscious mind learns to implement the order you gave it and turn it into reality little by little.
