At 7 o’clock, your bell rings and you wake up. But you turn it off again and you sleep another quarter and you are lazy, it is 7.15 and you hang up again to sleep another quarter. Do this process again until 7.45 am! Although it is still very difficult to wake up, you finally wake up at 7.45 am and get to your office quickly, at the top of the clock.

Too high self-confidence is not good either! Some other procrastinators always feel artificial security in their minds. By being confident, they can finally do it, and they are fast, and that calms them down. In this case, it is not bad to lower your self-confidence a little and always consider the possibility of failure.

This is another reason for procrastination. People who do not consider small steps important and wait for everything to get better and then start, usually procrastinate forever.

  • Realizing that the fears you have now that prevent you from moving towards your goal will get bigger as time goes on! Rest assured that by continuing the process of procrastination, sooner or later, depression will overwhelm you.
  • Understanding deeply, successful people take the first steps, even when they do not feel like working.

The importance of Certainty in procrastination

Lack of certainty is the most important factor that causes you not to start and procrastinate. When you are not sure whether you will succeed if you start something, your subconscious mind will try to prevent you and your character from getting hurt by delaying the start. If you are sure that you are doing something and by doing it, you will be 100% successful and enjoy it, you will do it! Also, if you are sure that you want to do something under any circumstances, you will do it!

Conversely, if you are sure that you will be harmed by doing something, you will prevent it. Consider the example we gave at the beginning. Why at 7:45, you finally get out of bed and go to the office? Yes, because everything has become “certain” for you. When you get stuck between death or doing something, you will do it!

So I emphasize that it is not bad to look at certainty once again, as an extraordinary attribute. When you say to yourself that you want to start something, speak with one hundred percent certainty and convince your subconscious mind to act: I will start something and I will get one hundred percent results!

Think about smoking. Many people know that smoking causes cancer or is harmful, but they still smoke. The fact is that such people, although consciously aware of this harm, their subconscious mind remembers the examples of many other people who smoked but were healthy until old age (perhaps one of them being their grandfather). Therefore, on the subconscious level, they are not sure what suffering they will receive and they do not understand this suffering. Therefore, I ask you to think about the importance of certainty and will. When you really decide to do something, you do it. When you burn the return boats and there is only one way to reach the goal, you will definitely reach it.
