Introduction
This image presents a particular optical illusion category called hybrid, made available for public viewing as a video. The said video, which is a collaborative creation of Canadians Gregory Brown and Mitchell Moffit, was published on Asap Science’s YouTube channel on April 2. (1)
Asap SCIENCE says the illusion is about how our eyes process detail. Einstein’s wrinkles and mustache are visible up close, but as you move away from the photo, you stop noticing those details and begin to process the “broader strokes” instead. That means Monroe’s hair and eyes start to dominate the picture.
Check Your Eyesight by Albert Einstein or Marilyn Monroe picture.
Do you see the picture of Albert Einstein or Marilyn Monroe? Stay about 4 meters away from the monitor screen. What about now?
If you’re sitting comfortably in front of your computer or holding your smartphone at a healthy distance, you should see a brilliant, frizzy-haired physicist with a mustache. But if you take several steps back from the screen or remove your glasses (if you have them), Einstein will start looking much prettier as the Monroe photo becomes focused. Experts say that the distance between you and the image decides what you will see, Einstein or Monroe. The following important factor is the strength of your eyes. If you have good eyesight, you’ll see a different version of the image than those with impaired vision.
